[The articles of this volume will not be indexed individually.] The book provides a guidance and an advice for various techniques to use the whole class of statistical models in practice. Their implementation in the SAS procedure MIXED and PROC MIXED is presented. The earlier chapters are devoted to an example-based introduction of linear mixed models. The experimental data modelling is developed to analyse continuous correlated data, longitudinal and spatial data using the mentioned software packages. Some standard inferential tools for the fixed effects of the general linear mixed model are described as well as some Bayesian techniques. A lot of attention is devoted to case studies with missing and incomplete longitudinal data from biological, pharmaceutical and medical fields.
