Let \(G\) be a group and let \(s_n\) be the number of elements of order \(n\) in \(G\), Hence, \(s_1 = 1\). Assume that for a finite simple group \(G\) there are exactly four different values \(s_n\). Then, the authors prove that \(G \cong A_5\). The proof is by showing that \(|G|\) has exactly three prime divisors and then inspecting these groups, which were classified by \textit{M. Herzog} [J. Algebra 10, 383--388 (1968; Zbl 0167.29101)].
