The author studies the convergence of a 3D model of viscous compressible fluid with nonlinear viscosity in a cylinder, when the height of the cylinder is a small parameter \(\varepsilon\) tending to zero. He derives an asymptotic two-dimensional model as a limit of the original 3D system. The method consists in preparing the data and use weak compactness techniques in order to pass to the limit \(\varepsilon\rightarrow 0\), with the specific features of the Orlicz machinery requested in this case.
