Let \(M\) be a simply connected rational homology 5-sphere \((H_*(M;\mathbb{Q})\cong H_*(S^5;\mathbb{Q}))\), \(K\) a closed connected 3-manifold and \((M,K,\phi)\) a simple (i.e., the pages of \(\phi\) are 1-connected) open book on \(M\). The author is continuing research started in [\textit{O. Saeki}, J. Math. Sci., Tokyo 6, 691--756 (1999; Zbl 0953.57015)] generalizing some results to open books on \(M\). First, the equivalence of bindings of such open books on \(M\) is characterized. Then he considers the existence of an open book whose page \(F\) is a smooth compact 1-connected 4-manifold with connected boundary. It is shown that if \(F\) is spin, then there exists a simple open book on \(S^5\) whose page is \(F\) up to a connected sum of several \(S^2\times S^2_{\text{s}}\). If \(F\) is not spin, then this happens on the standard nonspin 5-manifold \(X_{-1}\) with \(H_2(X_{-1};\mathbb{Z})\cong \mathbb{Z}_2\).
