    This paper is concerned with the error propagation of numerical methods when applied to the integration of relative equilibrium solutions of Hamiltonian systems with symmetries. Assuming a Hamiltonian system \( \dot{z}(t) = J \; \nabla H(z(t)),\) with \( z \in \Omega \) domain of \( \mathbb{R}\)\(^{2n}\) and \(J\) the standard skew symmetric structure matrix that possess a scalar first integral \(I\) on \( \Omega\), the authors define the equilibriums restricted to a level set of \(I\) and analyze theoretically the structure of perturbations of these relative equilibria in the linear approximation. After that they introduce the numerical integrators under consideration and study the asymptotic behavior of the global errors paying special attention to the conditions that imply an asymptotically linear growth of the error. The paper ends with a test problem in which the behavior of the methods under different kind of perturbations is studied.
