An extensive study of rings of generalized power series is given by Ribenboim in various papers [e.g., \textit{G. A. Elliott} and \textit{P. Ribenboim}, Arch. Math. 54, No. 4, 365-371 (1990; Zbl 0676.13010)]. In this paper, ideals and idempotents of rings of generalized power series are determined.
