    Let \(f(z)=\sum_{n=0}^\infty a_nz^n\) be an entire function. Denote by \(M(r,f) = \max_{\theta}| f(re^{i\theta})| , \) \(\quad A(r,f)= \max_{\theta}Re f(re^{i\theta}).\) From the Wiman-Valiron theory it follows that \(M(r,f)\sim A(r,f),\;r\to \infty, \;r\notin E(f)\) where \(E(f)\) is an exceptional set of finite logarithmic measure. It is known that such an estimate of the exceptional set is sharp. The author investigates the relations between \(M(r,f)\) and \(A(r,f)\) on the whole ray \(r\in (0, \infty)\) in the classes \(A_\psi\) defined by the condition \(| a_n| \leq \exp (-n\psi(n))\) where \(\psi\) is from the class \(L\) of positive continuous increasing unbounded functions on the ray \((0, \infty )\). Among the results of the note we see the following. \noindent 1. Let \(h\in L, f \in A_\psi.\) The relation \(\limsup_{r\to\infty} \frac{M(r,f)}{h(A(r,f))} < \infty \) is equivalent to the relation \( \limsup_{r\to\infty} \frac{r\exp(\gamma(r)\psi(r))}{h(\exp(\gamma(r)\psi(r)))} < \infty\) for every \(\gamma \in L.\) \noindent 2. Under the conditions \(f\in A_\psi , \phi \in L\) the relation \(\lim_{r\to\infty} \frac{\phi(M(r,f))}{\phi(A(r,f))}=1\) is equivalent to the relation \(\lim_{r\to\infty} \frac{\phi(r\exp(\gamma(r)\psi(r)))}{\phi(\exp(\gamma(r)\psi(r)))} =1 \) for every \(\gamma \in L.\) \noindent 3. For every \(h\in L\) there exists an entire function \(f\) such that \(\limsup_{r\to\infty} \frac{M(r,f)}{h(A(r,f))} = \infty. \) \noindent 4. For any \(\psi \in L\) there exists an entire function \(f\in A_\psi\) such that \(\limsup_{r\to\infty} \frac{M(r,f)}{A(r,f)} = \infty. \)
