The following notations are used: \(f^ 0(s,t)\) is the double Fourier series of the function \(f=f(s,t).\sigma_{nm}f(s,t)=\sum_{k,\ell \leq m,n}\alpha_{mnk\ell}A_{k\ell}(s,t)\) is the A-mean of \(f^ 0\), where \(A=(\alpha_{mnk\ell})\) is a triangular matrix summability method. \[ K_{mn}(s,t)=\sum_{k,\ell \leq m,n}2^{-k}\alpha_{mnk\ell}\cos ks\cdot \cos \ell t\text{ and } L_{mn}=\pi^{-2}\iint_{Q}| K_{mn}(s,t)| ds dt. \] If \(x_{mn}\to a\) and \(x_{mn}=O(1)\) then it is defined b-lim \(x_{mn}=a\). Moreover, \(L_{\Phi}\) and \(L_{\Psi}\) are complementary Orlicz spaces. The main results are the following. Let \(b- \lim_{m,n}\alpha_{mnk\ell}=1\) and \(L_{mn}=O(1),\) then \(I.\quad f^ 0\in L_{\Psi}\) if and only if \(\| \sigma_{mn}\|_{\Psi}=O(1);\) \(II.\quad f^ 0\in L_{\Phi}\) if and only if \(\exists h\in L_{\Phi}:\) \(b-\lim \| \sigma_{mn}f-h\| =0;\) III. The A-complementary space (in the sense of \textit{G. Goes} [Math. Ann. 137, 371-384 (1959; Zbl 0087.070)]) to \(L_{\Phi}\) is \(L_{\Psi}\) and vice versa. IV. The double sequence \(\epsilon_{mn}\) is a multiplier from an A-complementary space into another one if and only if \(\epsilon_{mn}\) sends A-summable double sequences into B-summable double sequences. Moreover, identical classes of multipliers concerning Orlicz spaces are found. The results are generalisations of \textit{G. Goes}' results [Studia Math. 19, 133-148 (1960; Zbl 0111.064)] in a certain sense. The paper is highly self-contained.
