Let \(\mu\) be a bounded (signed) Radon measure on \(\mathbb{R}\nu\) and let \(P(\mu)\) denote the half-space Poisson integral of \(\mu\) on \(\mathbb{R}\nu\times (0,+\infty)\). If \(\mu\) has a finite derivative at 0, then \(P(\mu)\) has a nontangential limit at 0, but in the absence of some extra hypothesis the converse is false. The authors give a new Tauberian condition under which the converse is true. Their theorem includes earlier results as special cases [see the authors' paper, Acta Math. 164, 237-263 (1990; Zbl 0733.31006)] and is proved to be optimal.
