This paper is an application of the well known theory of Lax pairs, Darboux transformations and their use in the construction of solutions. The authors consider the matrix Yajima-Oikawa equation and its Lax pair, derive a Darboux transformation (linear in the spectral parameter) which then they employ in the construction of some physically interesting solutions (rogue waves and soliton solutions).
