The leading results concern a commutative Mori domain A with complete integral closure \(A^*\). Then \(A^{**}\) is c.i.c. (completely integral closed) and, if A is seminormal, \(A^*\) is c.i.c. Examples show that, in general, \(A^*\) may or may not be Mori or c.i.c. Two-third of the article is background to these examples, and we only give a sample of the results. The examples are naturally associated with suitably power functions \(\Phi: {\mathbb{N}}\to {\mathbb{N}}\cup \{\infty \}\), where \(\Phi\) is called a power function if there are x, y in a semigroup S such that \(\Phi (n)=\sup \{m: x^ n\in Sy^ m\}\) or, equivalently, \(\Phi (i+j)\geq \Phi (i)+\Phi (j)\) for all i,j\(\geq 0\). Such \(\Phi\) is called Mori (for example) if S is Mori. Put \(\Phi^*(n)=\sup_{r\geq 0}\inf_{k>0}[\Phi (kn+r)/k]\) where \([\quad]\) means integer part. Then \(\Phi\) is c.i.c. \(\Leftrightarrow \Phi =\Phi^*\). For \(c\geq 0\) put \(\tau_ c(n)=[cn]\). Finite valued Mori c.i.c. power functions are those of the form \(\tau_ c\) with c rational. The author previously studied Mori domains in J. Pure Appl. Algebra 61, No.1, 53-77 (1989; Zbl 0711.13006).
