This interesting paper deals with the global in time nonexistence of solutions for dissipative anisotropic nonhomogeneous \(p(x)\)-Kirchhoff systems in the setting of variable exponent Sobolev space \[ K= C(\mathbb{R}^+_0\to W^{1,p(\cdot)}_0(\Omega))\cap C^1(\mathbb{R}^+_0\to L^2(\Omega)). \] Thus, \[ \begin{aligned} u_{tt}- M(Fu(t))\Delta_{p(x)} u+ \mu(u)^{p(x)- 2}u+ Q(t,x,u,u_t)=\\ f(t,x,u)\quad &\text{in }\mathbb{R}^+_0\times\Omega,\\ u(t,x)= 0\quad &\text{on }\mathbb{R}^+_0\times \partial\Omega,\end{aligned}\tag{1} \] where \(u= (u_1,\dots, u_N)\), \(N\geq 1\), \(\Omega\) is bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^n\), \(\mathbb{R}^+_0= [0,\infty)\), \(\mu\geq 0\) and \(\Delta_{p(x)}\) stands for the \(p(x)\)-Laplacian operator. The associated \(p(x)\)-Dirichlet energy integral \[ Fu(t)= \int_\Omega {|Du(t,x)|^{p(x)}\over p(x)}\,dx, \] while \(M: C(\mathbb{R}^+_0\to \mathbb{R}^+_0)\) is locally Lipschitz function and \(Q\geq 0\) in appropriate sense. The main results are shown by studying the natural energy \(Eu(t)\) associated to the solutions of the system (1). The authors prove the nonexistence of global solutions when the initial energy \(Eu(0)\) is bounded from above by a critical value \(\widetilde E_1\). In particular cases several interesting applications are proposed. The proofs are based on a new approach of the classical potential well and concavity methods.
