The system of equations \[ \begin{split} \alpha^+ + \alpha^- & = 1,\\ \partial_t (\alpha^\pm \rho^\pm) + \operatorname{div}(\alpha^\pm \rho^\pm u^\pm) &= 0,\\ \partial_t (\alpha^\pm \rho^\pm u^\pm) + \operatorname{div} (\alpha^\pm \rho^\pm u^\pm \otimes u^\pm) + \alpha^\pm \nabla P^\pm (\rho^\pm) & = \operatorname{div}(\alpha^\pm \tau^\pm)\\ P^+(\rho^+) - P^-(\rho^-) & = f(\alpha^-\rho^-) \end{split} \] describes a flow of two compressible fluids where \(\rho^\pm\) (the fluids densities) and \(u^\pm\) (the fluids velocities) are unknowns. The authors provide the proof of the existence of a global unique solution to this system under additional assumptions about the smallness of initial data. The method of the proof consists of several parts. The local-in-time existence is mentioned. Next, the authors deduce \(W^{k,2}\), \(k\in \{1,2,3,4\}\), estimates of solutions in two subsequent steps: first they provide the estimate in the interior of the domain and second, the estimates up to the boundary are derived. These estimates enable the extension of the local-in-time existence result which yields the main claim of the paper.
