This paper studies theoretically the problem of propagation of the global Airy and Fresnel internal waves generated by a point mass source moving with a constant velocity \(V\) along the \(x\) axis at a depth \(z_ o\) in a layer \(-h<z<0\) of stratified horizontally inhomogeneous fluid with a variable density \(\rho\). The solution of the governing system of equations of hydrodynamics under the Boussinesq approximation is sought in terms of the asymptotic expansion of a small parameter \(\varepsilon\), which characterizes the slowness of variation with respect to variables \(x\) and \(y\). After a long algebra, the authors have determined analytical expressions for the leading terms of the asymptotic expansions of the global Airy and Fresnel waves. The paper is only of academic interest.
