The conditional state limiting behaviour and the conditional distribution until absorption are investigated for a two-unit parallel redundant system with dependent units. The results and procedures used in the article complement and advance those reported in the paper of \textit{S. Kalpakam} and \textit{M. A. Shahul Hameed} [J. Appl. Probab. 20, 429-435 (1983; Zbl 0529.60089)].
