Let \((X,\|.\|)\) be a normed space and \(T:X\to X\) be an affine linear operator. Define \(A_T: X\to X\) by \(A_Tx= Tx- T0\) for all \(x\in X\). \(A_T\) is a linear operator on \(X\). It is bounded iff \(T\) is continuous. \(A_T\) is said to be a linear part on \(T\). The main result of the paper is: Let \(T:X\to X\) be a continuous affine operator such that the sequence \((\sum^n_{k=1} A^k_Ta)^\infty_{n=1}\) is bounded where \(a= T0\). Suppose there is an \(x\in X\) such that 1) \((T^nx)^\infty_{n= 1}\) is bounded; 2) \((x_n)^\infty_{n= 1}\) contains a subsequence \((x_{n_i})^\infty_{i=1}\) which converges weakly to some \(\overline x\in X\), where \[ x_n= (1/n) \sum^n_{k=1} T^k x. \] Then 1) \(T\overline x=\overline x\); 2) \((x_n)^\infty_{n=1}\) converges to \(\overline x\) if \(I- A_T\) has a closed range and if the following condition is satisfied: \({\|A^n_T y\|\over n}\to 0\) as \(n\to\infty\) for all \(y\in X\) with \(x-\overline x= (I- A_T) y\).
