With \(T\) a completely regular space, \({\mathcal B}\) the Boreliens of \(T\), and \(m^b(T)\) the set of all bounded Radon measures on \((T,{\mathcal B})\) the author introduces a limit tower structure on \(m^b(T)\). For a bounded set \(H\subseteq m^b(T)\), the author establishes \(t(H)\)-relative compactness where \(t(H)\) is the degree of tightness of \(H\). This result is an extension of Prohorov's classical theorem on the relative narrow compactness of \(H\). With the help of the narrowlimit tower on \(m^b(T)\), the author introduces the concept of \(a\)-relative compactness and establishes that if \(T\) is a locally compact space and \(H\) an \(a\)-relative compact set in \(m_+^b(t)\), then \(t(H)\leq a\). In the particular case of Polish spaces, the author gives a sequential version of the extension of Prohorov's theorem.
