Let \(D\) be a simply connected planar domain, whose boundary is a Jordan arc, that contains a closed sector of angle bigger than \(\pi/2\). The authors prove in Theorem~2.1 that any positive solution of the minimal surface equation in \(D\) vanishing on \(\partial D\) grows at most linearly. In Proposition~2.3 they show that a positive solution of the minimal surface equation on a planar domain \(D\) vanishing at \(\partial D\) has at least logarithmic growth. Examples of possible growth rates of minimal graphs are given in section~3. In section~4 some open problems and conjectures are stated.
