The core entropy of a post-critically finite quadratic polynomial is defined as the entropy of the mapping induced on its Hubbard tree. The setting of the paper is to consider the core entropy on the boundary of the Mandelbrot set as a function of the external angle, restricted to be rational by definition. The core entropy is expressed through the leading eigenvalue of a transition matrix which in turn can be constructed directly from the doubling map on external angles. The proof then proceeds through some graph theory. Other than the continuity mentioned in the title of the article, the core entropy is Hölder continuous at a given external angle if and only if its value at that angle is positive.
