The author proves a Feynman-Kac formula for the semigroup generated by Schrödinger type operators on vector bundles \(E\) over arbitrary Riemannian manifolds \(M\). Similar results have been proved by the same author [J. Geom. Phys. 60, No. 12, 1997--2010 (2010; Zbl 1207.53050)] under the additional assumption that \(M\) is geodesically or stochastically complete. Moreover, in the paper under review the potential \(V\) is not necessarily locally square integrable or bounded from below. Here, the author assumes that \(V=V^{(1)}-V^{(2)}, V^{(1)}\geq 0, V^{(2)}\geq 0\), where \(V^{(1)}\in L^1_{loc}(M)\) and \(V^{(2)}\) belongs to the Kato class \(\mathcal{K}(M)\): \[ \mathcal{K}(M)=\{v: \lim\limits_{t\to 0} \sup\limits_{x\in M} \int\limits_0^t \int\limits_M p_s(x,y) |v(y)| \text{vol}(dy) ds =0\} , \] where \(p_t(x,y)\) is the minimal positive heat kernel of \(M\). A general Feynman-Kac-Itô formula for magnetic Schrödinger operators on Riemannian manifolds is also proved. These path integral formulas are then used to prove several \(L^{p}\)-type results, like bounds on the ground state energy and \(L^{2} \rightsquigarrow L^{p}\) smoothing properties of the corresponding Schrödinger semigroups. As another main result, the author proves that if the Riemannian manifold \(M\) is geodesically complete with Ricci curvature bounded from below, then the latter semigroups are also \(L^{2}\rightsquigarrow \)\{bounded continuous\} smoothing for Kato decomposable potentials, i.e., \(|V^{(1)}|\in\mathcal{K}_{loc}(M), \;|V^{(2)}|\in\mathcal{K}(M)\).
