Let \(G\) be a connected linear algebraic group over an algebraically closed field \(k\) of characteristic zero, and let \(H\) be a closed subgroup of \(G\). Let \(L\) be a Levi factor of \(G\) and \(U:=R_ u(G)\), \(V:=R_ u(H)\) be the unipotent radicals of \(G\), \(H\) resp. The following conditions are under consideration in this paper: (0) \(V\subseteq U\); (I) \(G/V\) is affine, (II) For an arbitrary finite-dimensional rational \(V\)-module \(M\), there exists a finite-dimensional rational \(G\)-module \(N\) such that \(M\) is a \(V\)-submodule of \(N\) and \(M^ V=N^ G\); (III) For any element \(u\) of \(U\), the equality \(uVu^{-1}\cap L=\{e\}\) holds. The author proves the implications \((0)\Rightarrow \hbox{(I)}\Rightarrow\hbox{(II)}\Rightarrow\hbox{(III)}\) and observes that \(\hbox{(I)}\Rightarrow (0)\) is false. Also, the author proves the equivalence of (I), (II) and (III) when \(G\) is a direct product of a Levi factor and \(U\). If \(U\) is commutative then one may assume that a Levi factor is isomorphic to \(GL(U)\) with \(U\) regarded as a vector group. When either \(\dim V=1\) or \(V\) satisfies additional hypotheses, the author proves the equivalence of the conditions (I), (II) and (III). Two theorems on Hochschild cohomology groups are also proven in this paper, and, if \(H\) is commutative, an interpretation of the exactness of \(H\) in terms of derivations of the coordinate ring \(k[G]\) of \(G\) is given.
