The authors are interested in finding multiplicity of periodic solutions for Hamiltonian systems in the plane. To this aim, they assume that \(0\) is a solution, and they propose ``asymptotic'' conditions on the nonlinearity at \(0\) and at \(\infty\). These conditions allow to estimate the rotation numbers of the solutions having small or large amplitudes, respectively, so that a suitable version of the Poincaré-Birkhoff fixed point theorem can be applied. The main novelty lies here in the introduction of Landesman-Lazer type of conditions in order to estimate the rotation numbers, so that possible ``resonance'' can occur both at \(0\) and at \(\infty\). This is done in the framework of \(L^1\)-Carathéodory functions, thus generalizing previous approaches dealing with \(L^2\)-Carathéodory functions.
