In the paper under consideration, a correspondence from a \(C^*\)-algebra \(M\) to a \(C^*\)-algebra \(N\) is an \(M\)-\(N\)-bimodule \(E\) such that \(E\) is a (right) Hilbert \(N\)-module and such that the left action defines a \(*\)-homomorphism into the algebra \(L(E)\) of adjointable maps on \(E\). If \(N=M\), we say that \(E\) is a correspondence {over} \(M\). A {Morita equivalence} from \(M\) to \(N\) is a correspondence \(X\) from \(M\) to \(N\) for which there exists a correspondence \(Y\) from \(N\) to \(M\) such that \[ X\otimes Y ~\cong~ M,\quad Y\otimes X ~\cong~ N. \] (Internal tensor product over the algebra in question.) In [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 81, No. 1, 113--168 (2000; Zbl 1036.46046)], the authors defined a correspondence \(E\) over \(M\) to be {Morita equivalent} to a correspondence \(F\) over \(N\) if there exists a Morita equivalence \(X\) from \(M\) to \(N\) such that \[ X\otimes F ~\cong~ E\otimes X. \] We should like to mention that this is equivalent to \(Y\otimes E\otimes X\cong F\) only if \(F\) is required to have nondegenerate left action of \(M\). In particular, the induced relation is reflexive only if (like many authors do) correspondences are required to have nondegenerate left action. (Since the right action of a Hilbert module is automatically nondegenerate, the condition is equivalent to \(X\otimes F \otimes Y\cong E\).) If \(F(E)=\bigoplus_{n=0}^\infty E^{\otimes n}\) is the full Fock module over \(E\), the {tensor algebra} \(T_+(E)\) is the (not necessarily selfadjoint) subalgebra of \(L(F(E))\) generated by the canonical left action of \(M\) and all creation operators \(\ell^*(x): x_n\otimes\ldots\otimes x_1\mapsto x\otimes x_n\otimes\ldots\otimes x_1\). In this work, the authors continue earlier work on the tensor algebra and on its \(W^*\)-variant, the Hardy algebra. They show that Morita equivalence of correspondences induces an isometric isomorphism between the corresponding tensor algebras. In the \(W^*\)-case, they show that it is weak\(^*\)-continuous. They show that among the Morita equivalent correspondences there is a stable version.
