On the question of embedding a semigroup into a semiband. (Q741660)

Semigroup \(S\) is an idempotent covered semigroup iff it is both the union of its idempotent-generated principal left ideals and the union of its idempotent-generated principal right ideals. For every idempotent covered semigroup \(S\) is constructed an embedding into a semiband of depth 4 (every element is the product of 4 idempotents) which is a subsemigroup of a semidirect product of \(S\times S\) by the two element right-zero semigroup; this embedding is compared with other known embeddings of semigroups into a semiband and its properties are studied.
