    The paper deals with finite elasto-plasticity in the framework proposed by Lee [see e.g.: \textit{V. A. Lubarda} and \textit{E. H. Lee}, J. Appl. Mech. 48, 35-40 (1981; Zbl 0494.73038)]. When the elastic part of deformation is a symmetric tensor the authors derive the plastic spin tensor as function of elastic part of deformation, rate of strain, total spin of the motion and of symmetric rate of plastic deformation, if the invariants of elastic deformation are nonzero. For the general case the dependency of the plastic spin is obtained as a function of the previous mentioned tensors as well as on the rate of elastic deformation. In such way it is possible to eliminate the plastic spin in formulating the constitutive equations. The elasto-plastic constitutive equations for large strain deformations are formulated via the associated flow rule with Prager-type kinematic hardening, using also a rate form of the elastic constitutive equations. In the proposed approach to finite elasto-plasticity the corotational derivatives with respect to the plastic spin are involved and the elastic deformation is considered to be a symmetric one.
