Two maximization problems are considered involving classes of functions with fixed rearrangement. In this context, if f,g\(\geq 0\) are measurable functions, f is said to be a rearrangement of g if f and g have the same distribution function. The problems involve the maximization of an energy type functional, and the rearrangement of the gradient. In the first problem two counter examples are provided to the uniqueness of the maximum, while in the second a case is studied in which the shape of a maximizer can be found.
