The paper refers to an area of numerical analyses. The authors investigate the cubature on scattered data by using a systematic and computationally efficient application of Radial Basis Function (RBF) interpolants. Based on the performed numerical tests, estimates and theoretical considerations, they draw the conclusion that the cubature formulas generated by thin-plate splines and compactly supported radial basis functions are reliable and robust. It must be noted, that the idea of applying RBF to construct cubature formulas on scattered samples is not new [see \textit{A. Yu, Bezhaev}, Sov. J. Numer. Anal. Math. Model. 6, No.~2, 95--106 (1991; Zbl 0816.65008)].
