The paper deals with the asymptotic behavior of the spectra of the truncated generalized discrete convolution operators \(A_N(a)\) (\(N\in\mathbb{N}\)) given by matrices of the form \[ \bigg(a\Big(\frac{n}{E(N)},\frac{k}{E(N)},n-k\Big)\bigg)_{n,k=1,\dots,N} \] where \(a:\mathbb{R}_+\times\mathbb{R}_+\times\mathbb{Z}\to\mathbb{C}_{m\times m}\) is a complex \(m\times m\) matrix function uniformly continuous in the first two variables and \(E:\mathbb{N}\to(0,+\infty)\) is a function satisfying \(E(N)\to\infty\) and \(N/E(N)\to\infty\) as \(N\to\infty\). Let \(S\) be the unit circle in \(\mathbb{C}\) equipped with the Lebesgue measure \(d\mu\), and let \[ \begin{gathered} (\Lambda a)(x,y,t)=\sum_{n\in\mathbb{Z}}a(x,y,n)t^n\quad (x,y\in\mathbb{R}_+,\;t\in S),\\\Phi_f(A)=\frac{1}{\roman{Numb}(B)}\sum_{k\in B}f(\lambda_k),\end{gathered} \] where \(A\) is a linear operator given on a finite-dimensional Banach space, \(f\) is an analytic function defined on an open domain \(D\) in the complex plane, \(\{\lambda_k\}\) are the eigenvalues of the operator \(A\) counted with their multiplicities, \(B\) is the set of those \(k\) for which \(\lambda_k\) belongs to \(D\), and \(\text{Numb}(B)\) is the cardinality of the set \(B\). Under some condition on the matrix function \(a\) and the domain \(D\), the following generalization of the Szegő limit theorem is obtained: \[ \Phi_f(A_N(a))-\frac{E(N)}{N}\int_0^{\frac{N}{E(N)}} \bigg\{\frac{1}{2\pi m}\int_S \roman{tr}f\big[(\Lambda a)(x,x,t) \big]d\mu\bigg\}dx\to 0 \] as \(N\to\infty\), where \(\text{tr}\,T\) denotes the trace of the operator \(T\).
