Let \(G(r,1,k)\) be the group of \(k\times k\) monomial matrices whose nonzero entries are \(r\)th roots of unity. Let \(k\geq n\) and \(r>n\) and let \(G(r,1,k)\) act diagonally on the tensor power \(V^{\otimes n}\) of the \(k\)-dimensional vector space \(V\). The centralizer of this action has a realization as the party algebra \({\mathcal A}_n\). This algebra allows a nice graph theoretic construction in terms of seat plans, special kinds of partitions of two disjoint sets with \(n\) elements, see [\textit{M. Kosuda}, Ryukyu Math. J. 13, 7-22 (2000; Zbl 1013.05078)]. In the paper under review the author constructs a complete set of irreducible representations of the party algebra drawing the Bratteli diagram of the tower \({\mathcal A}_0\subset {\mathcal A}_1\subset\cdots\subset {\mathcal A}_n\) and defining the tableaux on it. It corresponds to Hoefsmit analogues of the Young seminormal representations of the symmetric group (see the well-known but never published Ph.D. Dissertation of Peter Hoefsmit at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, 1974).
