    Let \(C_ x\) be the class of all \(2\pi\)-periodic and bounded real-valued functions f continuous at the point x. Let \[ I_ n(x;f)= a_ 0^{(n)}+\sum^{n}_{\ell =1}(a_{\ell}^{(n)}\cos \ell x+b_{\ell}^{(n)}\sin \ell x) \] be the trigonometric interpolating polynomials of f, with nodes \(x_ j=x_ j^{(n)}=2\pi j/(2n+1)\) \((j=0,\pm 1,\pm 2,...;n=0,1,...)\). Put \(H_ n(x;f)_ q=((n+1)^{- 1}\sum^{n}_{k=0}| I_{n,k}(x;f)-f(x)|^ q)^{1/q}\) (q\(\geq 2)\) where \(I_{n,k}(x;f)= a_ 0^{(n)}+\sum^{k}_{\ell =1}(a_{\ell}^{(n)}\cos \ell x+b_{\ell}^{(n)}\sin \ell x).\) The author proves that if \(f\in C_ x\) and \(q\geq 2\) then \(H_ n(x;f)_ q\leq C_ 1(q)((n+1)^{-1}\sum^{n}_{k=0}[\omega_ x(\pi (k+1)^{- 1};f)]^ q)^{1/q}\) for \(n=0,1,2,..\). and that the estimate cannot be improved for a certain class of functions \((\omega_ x(\delta;f)=\sup_{| h| \leq \delta}| f(x+h)-f(x)|)\).
