The paper deals with the problem of reconstruction of the dissipation parameter and the precession parameter of a ferromagnetic material, whose magnetization around of the effective field is governed by the Landau-Lifshitz equation. The parameters are assumed to be space-varying functions. The measurements for the inverse problem are the magnetization over the whole (bounded) domain, over the whole evolution time interval. The approach consists in defining an appropriate cost functional, choosing a method for its minimization, computing the gradients, and discussing the convergence of the minimization algorithm (the steepest descent method is chosen). The algorithm is tested numerically in the cases when one of the parameters is assumed to be known.
