Model reduction for a class of linear descriptor systems (Q1023308)

The paper is concerned with linear differential systems and the question of model reduction. The idea is to construct a reduced order system based on a given part of the finite spectrum of the pencil and the authors provide algorithm descriptions that show how this is to be achieved. Under appropriate conditions they are able to show that their method has lower computational complexity and reduced storage requirements when compared to classical approaches.
