One says that a measure-preserving endomorphism is one-sided Bernoulli if it is isomorphic to an invertible Bernoulli shift. The authors show that in the case of piecewise smooth endomorphisms the one-sided Bernoulli property is much stronger than the usual weak Bernoulli property and illustrate this on certain families of interval maps and complex maps on the Riemann sphere.
