The following integral equation with logarithmic singularity in the kernel \[ \int^{+L}_{-L}[\ln | x-\xi | +N(x,\xi)]\phi (\xi)d\xi =f(x),\quad x\in [-L,L] \] is considered which has the operator form \(A\phi =f\). By discretization an approximate operator \(A_ N\) is defined by \(A_ N\phi =S_ NT_ NA\phi\), and an approximate solution is obtained by solving the discretized equation \(A_ N{\tilde \phi}=f^{\delta}\). An error estimation for \(\| {\tilde \phi}-\phi \|_{L_ p}\) is given.
