The author's main theorem: Let A be an algebra over a field k of characteristic 0, with an increasing filtration, and suppose the Hochschild homology of its associated graded algebra vanishes for \(i>n\). Then the natural map in cyclic homology \(HC_ i(F_ 0A)\to HC_ i(A)\) is an isomorphism for all \(i\geq n\). - The author points out several interesting consequences of this theorem, and explains its analogy to a theorem of Quillen concerning the K-theory of filtered rings.
