A function f: \(X\to Y\) is called N-continuous if for each point \(x\in X\) and each open set V containing f(x) and having N-closed complement there is an open set U containing x such that f(U)\(\subset V.\) The authors emphasize the fact that if the codomain of an N-continuous function is retopologized by the N-closed topology, then f is simply a continuous function. Thus, they locate the position of this class of functions in a very clear way. All this apparently motivated them to investigate this new induced topology, also taking into account its relationships to the co-compact topology [\textit{D. B. Gauld}, Kyungpook Math. J. 18, 151-157 (1978; Zbl 0404.54001)] and its semiregularization. The analysis is careful and clear.
