This article contains generalizations of recent oscillation and nonoscillation criteria of \textit{Ch. Huang} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 210, 712-723 (1997; Zbl 0880.34034)]. A proof is given that the foregoing results are special cases of classic theorems of \textit{E. Hille} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 64, 234-252 (1948; Zbl 0031.35402)].
