The author considers the singular integral equation \[ au(x)+(b/\pi)\int_{-1}^ 1 u(y)(y-x)^{-1} dy+\int_{-1}^ 1 k(x,y)u(y)dy=f(x), \qquad x\in(-1,1),\tag{1} \] where \(a\) and \(b\) are real constants satisfying \(a>0\), \(a^ 2+b^ 2=1\), and the index of equation (1) is \(-1\). Intead of the usual method with Gauss-Jacobi quadrature, he studies the Lobatto-Chebyshev quadrature method for the approximate solution of equation (1). The error analysis in the uniform norm is carried out under a restrictive assumption on the size of the coefficients. Numerical experiments reveal a higher convergence rate than the one obtained theoretically.
