The random number generator based on the iteration \[ x_{n+1}= \lambda x_n(1-x_n), \] where \(\lambda\) is positive and less than 4, is studied. The case \(\lambda = 3.999\) and \(x_0 = 0.4\) is investigated. A simple condition for the generator not to generate is given. The following experimental values are computed: points in the contingency interval, self correlation coefficients, experimental values of moments, numbers of runs. The length of the generator period is not tested. No standard statistical tests were performed. The dependency of the generator on the properties of the arithmetics is not studied, the properties of the used arithmetics are not specified enough.
