The authors prove some properties of Bochner-Riesz means with negative index, regarded as operators acting from the set of radial functions lying in a suitable Sobolev space to some Lorentz space. For different results for nonradial functions see \textit{S. A. Alimov} [Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 231, 11-13 (1976; Zbl 0361.42008)] and \textit{L. Börjeson} [Indiana Univ. Math. J. 35, 225-233 (1986; Zbl 0598.42014)].
