Let \((E,M,h)\) be a Hermitian vector bundle over a compact Kähler manifold \(M\) endowed with a Hermitian metric \(h\). A connection \(\Gamma\) on \(E\) is said to be harmonic if the form \(\omega\) of \(\Gamma\) is of type \((1,0)\) and its curvature form \(\Omega\) is an \(\text{End}(E)\)-valued harmonic form in a proper sense. \(E\) admits a unique Hermitian connection \(\Gamma\) of type \((1,0)\) with respect to which the matric \(h\) is parallel. The pseudo-Ricci curvature of this connection is defined by \(K= \sqrt{-1}\Lambda\Omega\), where \(\Omega\) is the curvature form of \(\Gamma\) and \(\Lambda\) denoted the contraction operator in Kähler geometry. The author enunciates the following main theorem: ``Let \((E,M,h)\) be a Hermitian vector bundle. The Hermitian connection is a harmonic connection if and only if the pseudo-Ricci curvature \(K\) is parallel with respect to the connection of \(\text{End}(E)\) induced from the Hermitian connection of \(E\)''.
