The goal of this well-written paper is to prove that each strongly subanalytic subset of the affinoid plane \(R^2\) is in fact semianalytic, where \(R\) is the valuation ring of an algebraically closed field of zero characteristic endowed with a nontrivial ultrametric norm. The proof is based on the study of the local structure of the affinoid domains by means of a very nice Weierstrass preparation type theorem (theorem 1.2). The author analyses the behavior of a globally semianalytic set in \(R^2\) by blowing-ups. His uniformization theorem for strongly subanalytic sets (proved in a preceding paper) enables him to achieve the result. We point out that the assumption on the dimension 2 is essential in the proof.
