This amendment of \textit{G. Marti's} ``Do modal distinctions collapse in Carnap's system?'' [J. Philos. Logic 23, 575-593 (1994; Zbl 0812.03006)] is not self-contained. The author writes: ``I will assume familiarity with Marti's paper in the interest of brevity.'' By careful analysis of expressing definite descriptions, Marti showed that Follesdal erred in his argument that modal distinctions collapse in Carnap's S2. Marti gave definite descriptions different treatment in modal contexts than in non-modal contexts. In this note, the author shows how Marti's argument can be carried out with a uniform treatment of definite descriptions. He then gives a semantic argument that with this treatment for definite descriptions, no modification of Follesdal's argument could be effective.
