Let \(G\) denote the general linear group defined on a vector space \(V\) of dimension \(n+1\) over a field with \(q\) elements. \(G\) acts transitively on the set of non-zero vectors of \(V\) and the stabilizer of an element under \(G\) is a group of the form \(H_n=q^n\cdot\text{GL}_n(q)\) which is called the affine group and is a split extension of an elementary abelian group of order \(q^n\) by \(\text{GL}_n(q)\). In the paper under review, the author uses a method which was initiated by B. Fischer to obtain the character tables of the groups \(H_2\), \(H_3\) and \(H_4\). Most of the paper, almost 33 pages, is devoted to display tables. These results are part of the author's Ph.D. thesis, which was done in 1994 in Teheran, Iran.
