To numerically solve problems on the determination of the parameters of a stratified medium on the basis of information of the wave field, a number of methods is available. For some complicated problems in which the medium parameters are described by functions of many variables, justified algorithms for solving inverse problems are virtually absent. An exception are quasi-one-dimensional problems, in which the desired parameters can be represented in the form of a finite sum of products of unknown functions that depend only on one of the space variables by specified functions of the other variables. Using the simplest equation as an example, we present a method for regularizing the solution of a multidimensional inverse problem that is based on solving a nonlinear algebraic system of equations. We succeed in justifying this method if the desired functions analytically depend on a part of variables.
