Let \(X\) be a Banach space, \(F: X \rightarrow X\) is assumed to be differentiable near the origin \(0\) of \(X\) and to satisfy \(F(0)=0\). Let \(x\) be a point such that \(0\) belongs to the \(\omega\)-limit set of the trajectory \(F^n (x)\), \(n =0,1, \dots\). The authors give conditions such that \(\omega (x) = \{0\}\) or \(\omega (x)\) contains also a point (different from \(0\)) of the unstable manifold of \(F\) through \(x=0\). The paper presents also historical remarks, a comparison with other results and a lot of references.
