Let \(k\) be a field and \(G\) be a finite group. We denote by \(\widehat H^*(G;k)\) the Tate cohomology of \(G\) with coefficients in \(k\). In this paper the authors investigate when a map \(\widehat H^*(G;M)\to\widehat H^*(G;N)\) of \(\widehat H^*(G;k)\)-modules is induced by a map \(M\to N\) of \(kG\)-modules. A global answer for this question is given when \(M\) (resp. \(N\)) is a fixed \(kG\)-module. This paper contains also some results about the realizability of the extensions.
