In the article under review, the weighted Yamabe constant of a compact smooth metric measure space \((M^n, g, e^{-\phi}\text{dvol},m)\) which is a generalization of Yamabe constant for \(m=0\) and Perelman's \(\nu\)-entropy for \(m=\infty\) is considered. Following \textit{J. S. Case} [J. Differ. Geom. 101, 467--505 (2015; Zbl 1334.53031)] and \textit{J. M. Posso} [Doctoral Thesis (2017)] the author proves the existence of a minimizer for the weighted Yamabe constant for a class of parameter \(m\) under some assumption especially on local curvature of the manifold \(M^n\). The proof is based on some results of [Case, loc. cit.] regarding a generalization of Perelman's \(\mathcal{W}\)-functional and some properties of its extremizer which is called the energy of the metric measure space. The author establishes several estimates of the \(\mathcal{W}\)-functional which are useful to conclude the proof.
