    Es habe die Reihe \[ f(x)=1+x^{1^2}+ x^{2^2}+\dotsm+ x^{m^2}+\dotsm \] den Charakter einer ganzen Function (der Convergenzradius derselben ist höchstens gleich Eins), es bedeute \(a\) eine beliebige Grösse, deren Modul \(<1\) ist, dann hat die mit Hülfe des Taylor'schen Satzes gefundene Entwickelung von \(f(a+h)\) höchstens \(1-\) mod. \(a\) zum Convergenzradius. Für diesen Satz des Herrn Weierstrass wird Herrn Verfasser ein elementarer Beweis gegeben.
