This paper reveals a very interesting connection between the \(\mathfrak{gl}_1\) quantum toroidal algebra \(U_{q,t}(\ddot{\mathfrak{gl}_1})\) and the \(Q\)-system cluster algebra. It introduces an algebra \(\mathcal{A}_{\mathfrak{gl}_N}^{(q,t)}\), which is a \((q,t)\)-deformation of the classical \(Q\)-systems of type \(A\), and designed to give the quantum \(Q\)-system algebra of \textit{P. Di Francesco} and \textit{R. Kedem} [Lett. Math. Phys. 107, No. 2, 301--341 (2017; Zbl 1367.81087)] in the \(q\)-Whittaker limit \(t \to \infty\). It is shown that \(\mathcal{A}_{\mathfrak{gl}_N}^{(q,t)}\) is isomorphic to the spherical DAHA (double affine Hecke algebra) of type \(\mathfrak{gl}_N\), and the kernel of the surjection from \(U_{q,t}(\ddot{\mathfrak{gl}_1})\) to \(\mathcal{A}_{\mathfrak{gl}_N}^{(q,t)}\) is described by the newly introduced \((q,t)\)-determinants. Moreover, a functional representation of this algebra is given in terms of the generalized Macdonald operators, which is obtained from the usual Macdonald operators by the \(\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})\)-action onthe spherical DAHA.
